Khasrang Village is located in Aanboo Khaireni Rural Municipality, Tanahun District, Gandaki Province, Nepal. It is a scenic hilly area easily accessible from the Highway.
Khasrang Village can be accessed by a private vehicle or public bus from Kathmandu which takes around 3-4 hrs followed by a pleasant 30 minutes hike.
It is also ~2.5 hours from Pokhara and 30 minutes from Bharatpur/Narayanghat.
The last vehicle stopping point is called Panch Kilo, which is 5KM from Mugling towards Narayanghat or 1KM from Jalbire Jharana towards Mugling (if you’re coming from Narayanghat side).
From Kathmandu, you can take any bus or micro van from Kalanki to Narayanghat and get off at Panch Kilo (Do not cross Jalbire Jharana).
From Pokhara side, take the bus that goes to Narayanghat route and get off at Panch Kilo (Do not cross Jalbire Jharana).
From Narayanghat side, take any bus that goes towards Mugling then get off at Panch Kilo (~1km after crossing Jalbire Waterfall).
Khasrang Village is a sustainable organic farming community practicing traditional and eco-friendly methods. Visitors experience authentic Gurung/Magar culture, stunning rice terraces, waterfalls, forests, food experiences (like ‘mill to meal’ and ‘forest to plate’) and a peaceful way of life in harmony with nature.
In Khasrang village you can participate in farming (planting/harvesting rice, vegetables, avocados), goat herding, village walks/hikes, multi-day treks, bird watching, cultural experiences (e.g., learning about nature worship like Shikari puja, Jal Devi, Naag Puja, etc. or festivals), tasting fresh organic meals, photography, and relaxing in nature.
Rice, millet, sesame, corn, various vegetables, avocados, mangoes, lychees, and pure honey from beekeeping. Livestock includes goats (free-range), buffaloes, cows, and chickens. Many products are organic and seasonal.
Key traditions at Khasrang Village include nature worship (like Shikari Puja – worshipping the forest protector god, Jal Devi Puja – worshipping water goddess, Naag Puja – worshipping snake god, Bayo Puja – Worshipping ancestors, etc.), the Parma – work exchange system, and vibrant festivals like Dashain, Tihar and Holi with local rituals.
